Prior
to his forthcoming album “One Wish”
(El Muto 005) CUBISMO GRAFICO comes around
the corner with fantastic versions of two classics.
His exciting interpretation of “Ave Maria”
(you know, that old tune by Franz Peter Schubert
and Walter Scott) is one of the most daring versions
of a classical song ever recorded.
Warm calypso-reggae-like rhytms supported by elegant Spanish
guitar picking meeting Sayaki “Vicky” Kushibiki’s
tender voice singing the world famous words.
This track is so damn groovy – it´s impossible
to sit still! This is just a taster to what is to come on
his fantastic album “One Wish” (out in May 2003)!
Side AA is a powerful pop version of Fairground Attractions’
UK no. 1 hit “Perfect”! While
there was a sort of folky touch to the original version CUBISMO
GRAFICO’s interpretation kicks ass!
Big time!!!
Recorded live in the studio together with his live band CUBISMO
GRAFICO 5 (featuring Akira Tsuneoka from Hi-Standard,
Yutaka Furukawa from Doping Panda and Syuta-Low "TGMX"
Tagami from Scafull King) you can feel the musical
power these great musicians have gained during their many
live shows. This is a track that won´t leave your ears
for a long, long time...
